Little Bayou Pierre Cascade


This cascading waterfall along the Little Bayou Pierre decreases slowly in steps, without losing contact with the stones beneath. There were four or five places where the water made a small drop. The total drop is just five feet.

There are two other waterfalls in Natchitoches Parish: Kisatchie Falls, a small rapids waterfall, and Odum Falls, located on a U.S. military base and inaccessible to the general public.

To find Little Bayou Pierre Cascade, follow LA-468 E to LA-28 E/LA-8 E Follow LA-8 E to LA-118 N/Mora Rd in Mora Continue on Mora Road. Drive to Kisatchie-Mora Road/Parish Road 920. Go past the Mora Post Office and continue another 8.5 miles to a concrete bridge. The cascade is on the left side of the bridge.

Little Bayou Pierre Cascade is the second largest waterfall in Louisiana, despite having a drop of only five feet.

Attraction Advice

The cascades are accessible year-round. There is no restricted access along the river from the bridge to the cascade, but be conscious of crossing onto private property.
