The Ohio River Scenic Byway runs 967 miles through three states. From west to east, starting on the Ilinois-Indiana border, travel on SR-62. After crossing Interstate 164, take SR-66 south and east as it meanders across the state through Tell City and Hoosier National Forest to SR-66. At Sulphur, take SR-62 east to Louisville, then north to Madison. In Madison, take SR-56 east until it becomes SR-156 (it will turn back into SR-56). At Aurora, SR-56 becomes Highway 50. Follow Highway 50 to the state line, where the Indiana portion of the byway ends and the Ohio portion begins.

There is no fee to access any portion of the route, although some attractions along the way may charge a fee.
