The Western America Railroad Museum


The Western America Railroad Museum collects, preserves, and shares the railroading history in the Pacific Southwest. It is located on the east side of the Harvey House Railroad Depot. It houses displays inside the depot, such as railroad artifacts, artwork, timetables, uniforms, tools, and various other types of railroad memorabilia. The museum also has a large date nail collection.
Located in the historical Casa Del Desierto and Harvey House Depot building, the museum features indoor and outdoor displays. and is popular with railroad enthusiasts. The outdoor displays include rolling stock, locomotives, and general railroad operating equipment from Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway.

The Western America Railroad Museum offers a multitude of static displays for rail fans of all ages to climb on and experience the sheer mass of the rolling stock, including an ATSF 999782 Caboose, UP 25599 Caboose, a Pullman-Style Baggage Car, an Arizona & California Railroad #58 Pullman (Passenger) Car, and a UP 9950 Locomotive.

Attraction Advice

The inside museum and gift shop are open on Fridays from 11 AM to 3 PM and on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 AM to 4 PM; the outside museum is open daily from dawn to dusk. Admission is free and donations are accepted.
