A 52 Weeks of Fun Fascinating Fact about Barre City Hall and Opera House

Having been destroyed by fire in 1898, a new Barre City Hall and Opera House building was erected on the same site. That Opera House, which opened on August 23, 1899, was considered the finest in Vermont, seating 1,000 patrons.

Attraction Advice

Barre City Hall is open year-round Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM (closed weekends and holidays). The Opera House Box Office hours are 12 PM to 5:30 PM Tuesday through Friday and 9 AM to 12 PM on Saturdays (closed Sundays and Mondays). Check with the box office for access to tour the building during these hours.
