Local Attractions

Nestled in the majestic mountains of the San Bernardino National Forest, widely known as "The Alps of Southern California," is the best-kept secret on the West Coast - Lake Arrowhead. A stunningly beautiful, cozy, and quaint mountain resort paradise, Lake Arrowhead features countless outdoor recreational activities such as hiking, backpacking, bicycling, water and snow skiing, fishing, and much more. With the stunning scenery and wildlife comes a natural peacefulness that has lured people to these mountains for centuries.

Lake Arrowhead is a 4-season experience located a quick 90-minutes from Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego. Mountains, alpine forests, and nature adventures are closer than you think.

Seven mountain villages, one destination along Rim of the World Scenic Byway (Highway 18) offering visitors a magical experience – by way of their natural beauty, cultural richness, traditions, folklore, and history. It’s cooler up here, often 10 degrees or more cooler than ground level, and our nature is spectacular.

Mountain biking is an exciting sport to enjoy and exercise while connecting with nature in the forest. Check out these unique and varied places to mountain bike in the Lake Arrowhead Mountain Communities. The local forest mountain biking trails are maintained and vary from easy, pleasant rides to high-adrenaline challenges that are typically marked by skill level (beginner, intermediate, expert, and double expert). Some places also host Bike Fests, races, and exhibitions.

Our beautiful location offers both mountains and lakes for you to find your spirit of adventure. From hiking in the San Bernardino National Forest and fishing from the shores of our local lakes to mountain biking and zip-lining, there’s an adventure waiting for the entire family.
